HemiData, an Internet software and service company, announces voice recognition support for the MD-Journal™ Internet based medical records product, using Dragon Naturally Speaking, a product of Scansoft, Inc.

HemiData has optimized the MD-Journal interface to simplify the process of entering medical records into the MD-Journal™. Using Dragon, customers can now speak to their application using natural language. The combination of Dragon Naturally Speaking and MD-Journal provides the clinician the ability to directly dictate the medical record. Direct dictation significantly shortens the documentation cycle by eliminating the time required for medical transcription. When using Internet Explorer as the browser with MD-Journal, text can be dictated into data fields and the user had the ability to navigate between screens using voice commands.

The new release of MD-Journal provides significantly improved functionality. Significant improvements have been made in usability, clinician access control and the ability for medical practices to manage their own users.

MD-Journal™ is a secure network application that provides storage and presentation of electronic patient records to medical professionals. An Internet based product, MD-Journal™ eliminates the need to buy expensive hardware and software to capture and store electronic records. MD-Journal™ can be used with most existing computer hardware capable of supporting an Internet Browser.

MD-Journal™ captures notes, SOAP notes, problems, vitals, labs and many other components of the patient's medical history to provide a total view of the patient.
